Indigenously manufactured LCA Tejas inaugurated in IAF

India’s first indigenously manufactured LCA (Light Combat Aircraft) was inaugurated into the IAF (Indian Air Force) on 1st July 2016. The event took place at the ASTC (Aircraft System Testing Establishment) in Bengaluru. Furthermore, the LCA has been given nickname ‘Flying Daggers’ 45. Air Force received its first two set of Tejas aircrafts by the state run HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited). The aircraft has been taken for two years of operation after which it will be moved to Tamil Nadu as designated. The IAF is planning to have 6 aircrafts by 2016-17. Additionally, Tejas will be featuring across the IAF’s combat plan in 2017.

Union HRD (Human Resource Development) Ministry launched Prashikshak- Portal for Teacher Education

The Union HRD (Human Resource Development) Ministry on 30th June 2016 launched Prashikshak- Portal for Teacher Education. The launch was inaugurated by Smriti Irani (Union HRD Minister). The objective of this portal is strengthening the DIETs (District Institutes of Education and Training). Additionally, the portal will ensure bringing quality teachers across the Indian SES (School Education System). Furthermore, it will help in benchmarking DIETs so that aspiring teachers are informed about various choices for a better future. Also, it will provide State and Union Government to perform real-time monitoring of institutions.

India celebrates NDD (National Doctors’ Day) 2016

India celebrated the NDD (National Doctor’s Day) on 1st July 2016 countrywide. This day is celebrated in honor of Dr. BC Roy, legendary physician. His birth as well as death anniversary both fall on this same day. He was given Bharat Ratna on 4th February 1961. Furthermore, celebrating NDD gives an opportunity to raise awareness towards the essential role of doctors in our day-to-day lives. Additionally, BC Roy was West Bengal’s 2nd Chief Minister.

Punjab Police launched RRPRS (Rapid Rural Police Response System)

The Punjab Police launched the launched RRPRS (Rapid Rural Police Response System) on 1st July 2016. The objective of this system is ensuring effective and prompt police response across 12000 Punjab villages. Punjab Dep. CM (Deputy Chief Minister) SS Badal inaugurated the system. Additionally, 220 new (Bolero) Jeeps and 400 motorcycles were also launched under this new system. Furthermore, the system will ensure the first response time to any law & order situation and crime is completed within twenty minutes of reporting. Also, two different lines have been set for avoiding delays or rush.

RIMPAC Exercise 2016 started

The RIPPAC exercise for the year 2016 was inaugurated on 30th June 2016. It flagged of at the Hawaiian Islands with 26 countries participating this year. This is a PMC (Pacific Military Exercise) or international war games covering the southern California part and Hawaiian Islands. Furthermore, RIMPAC theme for 2016 was ‘Capable, Adaptive and Partners’. The RIMPAC exercises first began in the year 1971. The exercise will include 45 ships, 200-plus aircrafts, 25000 personnel and 26 countries participating in the Pacific’s biennial Rim. The CTF (Combined Task Force) Commander will be Nora Tyson (US commander, C3F). Also, Deputy-commander for this exercise will be Scott Bishop (Australian Navy Commander).
